Privacy Collection Notice (PCN)
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is collecting your personal information from the OnBoard Candidate Register to:
- be entered into a database of persons interested in appointment to Australian Government statutory positions, boards and committees for the purpose of selecting candidates for certain positions
- provide the Minister for Indigenous Australians with a selection of candidates for consideration for appointment as vacancies arise
- provide other Australian Government entities with user access to the register to enable them to search for potential candidates for consideration for appointment to other positions as vacancies arise
- communicate with you about your specific enquiry or Government Board appointment
- communicate with your referees
- respond to your enquiries through the “contact us” option on the site
- use clickstream data for statistical purposes and improve the Onboard Candidate Register site
- contact you if your skillsets are suitable for certain positions to ascertain your willingness and availability to be nominated for possible appointment
- arrange pre-appointment checks, including due diligence and national criminal history police checks.
For the same purpose/s, we may provide this information to:
- the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (who provide technical support and administration for the OnBoard Candidate Register)
- the Prime Minister
- the Minister for Indigenous Australians
- Australian Commonwealth Ministers and entities
- your nominated referees
- Pharmacy ID.
Personal and sensitive information collected by the NIAA includes:
- name and contact details
- gender
- Indigeneity
- disability status
- relevant skills and experience, including Board positions.
Providing the requested information is voluntary. If you choose not to provide us with your information you will not be able to register on the Onboard Candidate Register.
The NIAA will not provide the information collected from you to anyone else outside the NIAA other than as listed above unless you have given consent for us to do this, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.
The privacy and security of your personal information is important to us, and is protected by law. The NIAA’s Privacy Policy explains how the NIAA handles and protects the information provided by you. The Privacy Policy also explains how you can request access to or correct the personal information we hold about you, and who to contact if you have a privacy enquiry or complaint.
